Bert Schmidt, CEO of WHRO will speak following the showing of The Shock Doctrine on Wed, July 28 at 7:30pm at Naro Cinema.
Today I invited someone from WHRO to attend to speak about their unannounced cancellation of CounterSpin produced by the media watch group FAIR. Yesterday was the last broadcast - on Mondays at 1:00pm.
It will be replaced by "World Vision Report" - http://www.worldvisionreport.org/About-World-Vision-Report
It's funded in part by the Christian humanitarian organization, World Vision - http://www.worldvision.org/content.nsf/about/who-we-are
So Bert has agreed to come and speak. Spread the word and let's get a progressive audience to attend and have some questions ready about the role of media plays in supporting the corporate state.
Maybe we can persuade WHRO to reconsider their decision like they did about three years ago when they took it off the air and then put it back on three weeks later due to the pressure of just a few people speaking out led by Tom Palumbo, Ann Williams, Jack - founder of LUV, and some others.
